SALISBURY — Search warrants issued in connection with the disappearance of a Rowan County teenager say investigators seized stained flooring and baseboards from the home where the girl lived.
The warrants showed investigators also collected drywall that was cut and removed from a closet area. The warrants say the drywall had red stains and is being tested for blood.
The investigators also found a book about the disappearance of JonBenet Ramsey with notes inside about remodeling a house, as well as a plastic bag with magazines about JonBenet. Also listed were two large knives covered with shrink wrap.
Authorities began searching the property on Wednesday in an attempt to find 15-year-old Erica Lynn Parsons, who was 13 when she was last seen in November 2011. She was reported missing July 30 by her older adoptive brother.
Sandy and Casey Parsons have said their adoptive daughter went to live with her biological grandmother in Asheville and thus never filed a missing person report.
Rowan County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. John Sifford said authorities followed up on what the couple said but found the information they provided wasn’t true.
