RALEIGH – Republicans are trying to build up energy this weekend in North Carolina for the fall elections in conjunction with a nationwide get-out-the-vote effort.

The Republican National Committee and Mitt Romney’s campaign plan to open four new “North Carolina Victory” offices Saturday in Wilmington, Greenville, Fayetteville and Winston-Salem in addition to four already up and running. The offices are designed to encourage grass-roots efforts up and down the ballot for GOP candidates in November.

The event is coinciding with an RNC event called “Super Saturday” in which GOP activists nationwide will knock on doors and call volunteers and voters.

Several elected officials will attend the North Carolina events, including U.S. Reps. Renee Ellmers and Virginia Foxx and state GOP Chairman Robin Hayes, a former congressman from the Charlotte area.
