Northeastern N.C. district attorney Parrish dies

ELIZABETH CITY — Frank Parrish, a district attorney who represented seven counties in northeastern North Carolina, has died. He was 64.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Nancy Lamb said Parrish was pronounced dead on Sunday at Albemarle Hospital.

Lamb said the cause of death wasn't known.

Parrish had served since 1994 as district attorney in the 1st District representing Dare, Pasquotank, Camden, Currituck, Perquimans, Chowan and Gates counties. He is survived by his wife, Kim, and two children.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
