RALEIGH — Four middle schools and four high schools have captured honors in the N.C. Department of Transportation's Model Bridge Building Competition.
About 250 students from across the state displayed their best math, critical thinking and presentation in four regional contests. Each team was judged on a written report, oral presentation, design drawing, and structural efficiency of the model.
The regional middle school winners were: Clarkton School of Discovery; Exploris Middle School, Raleigh; Elise Middle School, Robbins; and Polk County Middle School, Mill Spring.
Regional high school winners were: East Bladen High School, Elizabethtown; The Franklin Academy, Wake Forest; North Moore High School, Robbins; and Enka High School, Candler.
The winners will compete at the statewide level on April 12 at the NCDOT Transportation Building Auditorium in Raleigh.
