Nash-Rocky Mount extends school day to make up for snow days

The Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools announced Monday the new hours for schools in order to make up time lost to inclement weather.

Lengthened school days

The school day is too long as it is. My experience with the student schedule is that the classes should be 10 minutes each so the teachers can assign the homework as most students have 1 to 2 hours of homework most days. And now to make the classes even longer? I just do not see the reasoning.
