Nash County Manager Zee Lamb presented his budget recommendation for the 2014-15 fiscal year to county commissioners and members of the public during a meeting Monday afternoon in Nashville.

Lamb recommended a general fund budget of approximately $89.22 million, which is a 1.61 percent increase from this year’s adopted budget and a 1.24 percent decrease from this year’s revised budget. The property tax rate would remain at 67 cents per $100 in valuation under the proposed budget.

County commissioners discussed the budget proposal briefly during Monday’s meeting. They will hold a public hearing during their regular monthly meeting at 10 a.m. June 2 in the Claude Mayo Jr. Administration Building, 120 W. Washington St. in Nashville.
