PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Navy Chief Petty Officer Marcus J. Steward was honored at a pinning ceremony Sept. 16 to mark his promotion to his current rank.
Steward serves on the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt as an aviation boatswain mate (equipment).
He previously served on the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy based in Jacksonville, Fla.
A graduate of SouthWest Edgecombe High School, he enlisted in the Navy on June 28, 1995.
Steward is the son of the Rev. James and Annie Steward of Rocky Mount. His sister, Shauna J. Steward, lives in Raleigh.
