Judith K. Boyd, history and English literature graduate of N.C. Wesleyan College and the University of North Carolina School of Law, has been promoted to lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Duringa recent promotion ceremony, Maj. Gen. Gill Beck pinned on Boyd’s uniform shoulder insignia.
“Lt. Colonel Boyd is the very best, in the top 1 percent of the Judge Advocate Corps in the Army Reserve,” he said. “What she learned at Wesleyan translated into something that is best for our nation. She is making a difference.”
Lt. Col. Boyd, who is stationed in Germany as an attorney for the Army, cited her Wesleyan education as the catalyst for her legal and armed forces career. In addition to her affiliation with Wesleyan as a graduate, she serves the college as a member of the Board of Trustees.
