Navy Seaman Apprentice Jonathan M. McKnight recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

The eight-week program includes classroom study and practical training on the service’s core values, physical fitness, naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival and shipboard and aircraft safety. It culminated in the Battle Stations skills and teamwork exercise.

McKnight’s former guardian is Mary K. McKnight of Middlesex.

McKnight is a 2010 graduate of East Wake High School.
