N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue will be making a stop at a Rocky Mount college Tuesday.
Perdue is scheduled to arrive at 4:30 p.m. at the Gateway Technology Center on N.C. Wesleyan College’s campus.
The purpose of the visit is to kick off the new N.C. State University Master in School Administration cohort at the center, said Marilynn Anselmi, director of academic programs at the Gateway Technology Center.
The visit comes shortly after the announcement that the state will be receiving up to $400 million in federal Race to the Top funds. The award will boost the governor’s Career and College: Ready, Set, Go! program.

Supposedly you are coming here to bring money to the area; whether it be through the college or any other means: which turns into votes. Let me ask you; why have we cut teacher jobs here? Fact: Nash and Edgecombe counties are numbers 1 and 2 in unemployment rates in the state. Fact: Nash and Edgecombe counties are also numbers 1 and 2 in money spent on lottery tickets in the state.
While you are here this week; why don't you take a trip around town and take a look at where our "working" dollars are going. They are going to lottery tickets and beer. Now; let me know how much of these same dollars are going back into these same communities?
