A mobile home nearly burned to the ground Saturday in the 1200 block of Emily Way in Nashville.

The department received the call around 1:56 p.m., Nashville fire Capt. Scott Whitford said, after neighbors noticed the unit on fire.

Firefighters from the Nashville, West Mount and Coopers departments and EMS workers from Nash County arrived on the scene shortly after and extinguished the fire, Whitford said.

The owners of the mobile home were not at home, Whitford said, and although the unit is still standing, it received extensive fire and smoke damage.

The Nash County Fire Marshall’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
