Why is such saddening news & photo front page?

As an animal lover I realize there are tragedies of this type every day; however, it is very distasteful of this newspaper to paste this story as the front page news! Why cause more pain for the family by making them front page headliners? Very rude. Prayers for the family during this difficult time.
