CHARLOTTE — Michelle Obama is returning to North Carolina.
President Barack Obama's campaign announced Thursday the first lady will visit Charlotte on Monday, just one day before the election. Details of the visit have not been released.
It's her first visit to Charlotte since the Democratic National Convention was held in North Carolina's largest city in early September. The convention drew thousands of delegates, journalists and others to Charlotte.
President Obama's final campaign schedule was released Thursday morning and it includes stops in eight battleground states, including Wisconsin, Virginia and Ohio — but not North Carolina.
He carried North Carolina in 2008, the first Democrat to win the state since Jimmy Carter in 1976.
