CHARLOTTE — There are two weeks before Election Day and the major-party candidates for North Carolina governor want to reach those people ready to vote in the state’s largest city.

Democrat Walter Dalton and Republican Pat McCrory both planned to visit early-voting sites in Charlotte on Tuesday. McCrory was set to go one step further. The former Charlotte mayor plans to cast his own vote in person at a local library in south Charlotte.

Lieutenant Governor Dalton planned to meet potential voters in uptown Charlotte.

McCrory also was scheduled to speak earlier Tuesday at the N.C. League of Municipalities annual conference and the Charlotte Rotary Club.

The two candidates are participating in their final televised debate Wednesday night in Rocky Mount.
