TARBORO – After months of searching and several rounds of interviews, the Edgecombe County Board of Education voted unanimously to hire John Farrelly as the school district’s new superintendent.

Dr. Craig Witherspoon left the county
better financially than others per the auditor. He would have done some good things but the powers that be couldn't take him not only being a black man but a smart black man.
I welcome the new superintendent and was there last night to welcome him.
How ignant to say is Edgecombe County ready for a white superintendent because all of them have been white except Dr. Witherspoon.
And obviously you are not informed because it has been whites who have ran all of those who left away however some of them went out with some issues. Not going there but I am very much informed.
I supported that past superintendent who was white but later found out he had some issues. However he did do some good things in his short stay and some white folks have not gotten over it yet so they are trying to get their Charter School up and rolling but the timing is not looking good for them.
Oh well it ain't the black folks who are running the system because many of them are afraid to speak out but the white movement have no problem with coming to meetings and taking a stand. Oh well informed have the meetings on video.

Is Edgecombe County ready for a white superintendent ? Every move he makes will be scruntinized simply because of skin color. To some of the less informed only witherspoon was capable of serving as superintendent.
