The N.C. Precision Motorcycle Drill Team attended Drill Team Expo 2009 in Daytona Beach, Fla., in early October
The team, which is comprised of Honda Gold Wing motorcycle riders from Eastern North Carolina, was given the People’s Choice Award by the crowd.
During its performance, the local team performed several precision moves that required exquisite timing, often bringing the bikes within six inches pedal-to-pedal and no more than 30 inches from rear wheel to front wheel. Darrell Bell added his specialty to the routine, riding backward. Bell was awarded the Best Solo Rider.
Proceeds from the benefit went to Camp Boggy Creek in Florida, a year-around camp for seriously ill children.
