With five children to support, quitting his job and going back to school full-time wasn’t an option for Thomas McCoy. Attaining his aspiration of becoming a police officer seemed destined to stay a dream, but on Aug. 5, he and 10 others were given the chance to pursue careers in law enforcement while being paid.
