Nash County deputies and officials from the N.C. Department of Probation and Parole busted a Middlesex man Monday for possessing more than 40 marijuana plants, marijuana, cocaine and other drug-related paraphernalia.
Authorities charged Jeremy Richard Barnes, 27, of the 9500 block of Stoney Hill Church Road with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for the keeping and storage of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to Nash deputies, Barnes is on probation for a prior offense.
A search of his home revealed a "sophisticated indoor marijuana grow which was active and in the process of producing marijuana plants," officials from the Nash County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
During the search, 110 grams of marijuana, one gram of cocaine, $729 in cash and various paraphernalia used to grow marijuana also was found and confiscated by authorities.
The 42 marijuana plants growing in Barnes' home ranged in size from one to three feet, authorities said.
The street value of the narcotics is estimated to be $101,000.
Barnes is being held in Nash County jail on $50,000 secured bond.
