Nash County sheriff's deputies are searching for two suspects in an attempted robbery Tuesday night at the Econo Lodge in Dortches.

Two black males – one with a shot gun – ran into the lobby of the hotel at about 10:45 p.m. and demanded money from the clerk.

"The clerk ran into the bar area, and the two suspects left without any money," Major D.O. Lyons said.

The men were wearing hoodies on their heads and bandanas around their faces, Lyons said. The suspects were described as black males in their early- to mid-20s and between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 5 inches.

The hotel is located off of Interstate 95 and N.C. 43.
