An ex-Rocky Mount police cadet filed complaints against the city's police chief, alleging she was let go by the department following an affair with the chief.
A complaint was filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, as well as with Rocky Mount city officials.
Assistant City Manager Charles Penny confirmed that a complaint had been filed, but declined comment on the allegations.
"We're handling it as a personnel matter," Penny said Friday evening. "We're doing what we need to do."
