JACKSON, Miss. — A single hole-in-one is a big enough dream for most golfers. But two in one round? That's some luck. Reeves Barbour, the 30-year-old son of Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, had two aces in a single round Oct. 25 on a Robert Trent Jones course in Gainesville, Va.
Reeves Barbour told WJLA-TV in Arlington, Va., that he scored the first hole-in-one with a 7-iron on the par-3 ninth hole. He said he hit the ball 174 yards.
He got the second ace just two holes later, on the par-3 11th. Barbour says he used an 8-iron to hit 161 yards.
Golf Digest calculates the odds of two holes-in-one in the same round at 67 million-to-1.
Vice President Joe Biden played the course the day as Reeves Barbour.
