Breakfast Banana Split

1/2 cup Post Alpha-Bits cereal

1 small banana

1/2 cup vanilla low-fat yogurt

1/4 cup seedless grapes, halved

1/4 cup strawberries, sliced

Peel banana and split in half lengthwise. Place in sundae dish or cereal bowl. Top banana with yogurt. Sprinkle with cereal and fruit.

Makes 1 serving.

Crispy Treats

1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine

10.5-ounce package miniature marshmallows (6 cups)

1/3 cup sugar-sweetened soft drink mix, any flavor (see cook’s note)

8 cups Post Alpha-Bits cereal

Cook’s note: Substitute 1 envelope unsweetened soft drink mix, any flavor, for the sugar-sweetened soft drink mix.

Line a 13-by-9-inch pan with foil; lightly grease foil.

Microwave butter in large microwavable bowl on high for 45 seconds or until melted. Add marshmallows and soft drink mix; mix to coat. Microwave on high for 11/2 minutes or until marshmallows are melted and smooth, stirring after 45 seconds. Add cereal; mix to coat well.

Press firmly into prepared pan. Cool; cut into squares. Store in airtight container.

Popcorn balls variation: Prepare marshmallow mixture as directed. Substitute 3 quarts (12 cups) popped popcorn and 1 cup salted peanuts (optional) for the cereal. Shape into 15 balls or other shapes with greased or wet hands.

Makes 15 servings.

Cinnamon Crunch Mix

2 cups Post Alpha-Bits cereal

1 cup dried fruit, such as raisins, apples or apricots

Ground cinnamon

Toss cereal and fruit in a medium bowl. Season with cinnamon to taste. Place 1/2-cup portions in individual snack bags. Store at room temperature.

Makes four servings.

Cool And Creamy Bananas

1 cup Post Alpha-Bits cereal

1 cup thawed fat free whipped topping

2 medium bananas, sliced

1 cup sliced strawberries

Add cereal to whipped topping in medium serving bowl; stir gently until well-blended. Add bananas; mix lightly. Top with strawberries.
