Taylor Brooke Webb, daughter of Kathy and Timmy Webb, has been awarded the Mark R. Braswell Scholarship worth $11,000 for the fall 2012 at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
The Mark R. Braswell Scholarship is a distinguished scholarship at UNC-Chapel Hill established in 1938 by the late Mrs. Emily Braswell Perry in memory of her father, Dr. Mark R. Braswell.
Taylor was the valediction of 2012 graduating class at SouthWest Edgecombe High School. She was the president of the National Honor Society, Female Scholar Athlete, Distinguished Young Woman of Edgecombe County and a member of Edgecombe County 4-H. Taylor has participated in numerous service learning projects including “Homer for Hunger,” Relay for Life and 4-H projects. She also received a 4-H Leadership Scholarship, Rocky Mount Optimist Scholarship, Keihin Scholarship, Pilot Club Scholarship, Tom Morgan Scholarship and the Olive Stokes Scholarship.
Taylor plans on majoring in pharmacy.
Taylor is eligible to receive this scholarship for four years.
