On May 31, Faith Christian School celebrated commencement by graduating its 20th class.
The school honored former and current board members for visionary leadership and recognized alumni from the first graduating class of 1994.
Faith Christian School will hold several 20-year celebration events during the 2013-14 school year.
Faith Christian School began in the spring of 1993 when a group of more than 200 parents envisioned a non-denominational Christian school for Rocky Mount.
Space was leased from Englewood Baptist Church, and school was in session. In its second year, the growth could not be contained on the Englewood campus.
Additional facilities were rented from Parkwood Baptist Church and the elementary grades were moved to that campus. In October 1997, 33 acres of land was purchased on Beechwood Drive.
From the humble beginnings of rented space, Faith Christian has built an elementary and middle school campus, gymnasium, fully-operational cafeteria, multiple athletic fields with lights, a high school facility housing 23 classrooms, two computer labs, weight room two science labs and six state of the art tennis courts with covered seating.
Faith Christian is fully accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International and SACS (AdvancEd).
This past year our students donated their time and energy with over 5,400 service hours to various community events, charities, church ministries, public service groups and organizations.

Success can be viewed in many ways …. such as a state championship, a college scholarship, a top award in class or being the first family member to graduate high school. At Faith Christian, the greatest success lies within each individual student and the impact they have on the community and the world around them with the truth of God.
