Nash/Rocky Mount School System recently was commended for the work it is doing with research-based Positive Behavior Intervention & Support.

All 27 schools are implementing Positive Behavior Intervention & Support with more than half of all schools earning state-level Positive Behavior Intervention & Support Recognition.

Nash-Rocky Mount was recognized as the highest performing school district in the region and well above performance levels across the state.

Four schools earned Exemplar Recognition: M.B. Hubbard Elementary School, Nashville Elementary School, G. R. Edwards Middle School and Southern Nash Middle School.

This is the highest level of recognition in the state at Implementation Level 3 or 4 and meeting 90 percent to 95 percent of target goals.

Eight schools earned Model Recognition by achieving Implementation Inventory Level 2 and meeting 80 percent to 90 percent of target goals.

Model schools are: Bailey Elementary School, Benvenue Elementary School, Coopers Elementary School, Englewood Elementary, Middlesex Elementary School, Red Oak Elementary School, J. W. Parker Middle School and Northern Nash High School.

Three schools earned Green Ribbon Recognition with Implementation Inventory Level 1 and achieving 70 percent to 80 percent of target goals: Cedar Grove Elementary, Winstead Avenue Elementary School and Nash Central High School.
