The Young Professionals Network of Rocky Mount recently has undertaken a rebranding effort, changing its logo and look to evolve over time with its audience, their desires and demands.

The Young Professionals Network is a group of engaged, career-minded individuals in the Nash-Rocky Mount area. The organization offers participants face-to-face social, personal networking and professional development activities throughout the year, along with involvement in community organizations, team sports and more. YPN supports area young professionals, leading them to continued investment and participation in the local community.

“To remain competitive as an up and coming, attractive neighborhood of the Triangle, the organization’s leaders have redeveloped the brand and programming, with the input of young professionals, to be more appealing to the changing young professional face in the Nash-Rocky Mount area,” said Kelley Deal, a member of the Young Professionals Network board. “If we are going to encourage young professionals to thrive in their professional lives – and most importantly to remain in the Rocky Mount area – we must make a conscious effort to continually engage them in professional networking with like-minded focused individuals and to encourage them to participate in all that our area has to offer.”

As part of the rebranding and repositioning, the Young Professionals Network has redefined its programming by offering more informal events, casual networking socials, and opportunities to gather at, support and learn about local businesses and organizations.

“We have eliminated the membership fee and are focusing on increasing corporate sponsorships. This commitment from area organizations is critical in demonstrating to young professionals that their community is invested in keeping them here,” Deal said.

The group is seeking local businesses and organizations interested in hosting or sponsoring after-hours and professional networking events.

YPN will hold its next outing at the Aug. 21 Downtown Live! concert outside the Imperial Centre. Following the concert, members will gather for dinner at The Prime Smokehouse. Additionally, young professionals meet at 8 a.m. every Friday at Milton and Miles for an informal opportunity of professional networking.

If I may? Try finding or attract another source,(people) a leader that can build upon assets on hand, get out that bubble or silo of repetitiveness and create your own. Dare to be different. Just saying.
