Riverside Veterinary Hospital will host an open house from 2-5 p.m. Feb. 22.
This event is open to the public and will give visitors the opportunity to tour the hospital facilities and meet the staff. Riverside has three new doctors since it held its last open house in 2009, Dr. Emily Mashburn, Dr. Ariel Fulghum and Dr. William Turbyfill.
Visitors will have the chance to check out displays and demonstrations on veterinary technologies and topics. This will include the surgery and dental suites, radiology area and the special procedures room, where ultrasounds and endoscopies are performed.
Those attending will also have the opportunity to observe some of the laboratory procedures and hear a presentation on one of Riverside’s latest offerings – exotic animal care by Dr. Fulghum. The exam rooms will be set up with information on heartworm, flea and tick preventative measures, vaccines and allergy treatments.
Refreshments will be available and there will be drawings for pet-related door prizes throughout the afternoon. Gift bags will be provided as you sign in for the drawings. Children will receive a stuffed dog or cat and have the opportunity to perform medical treatment on their new pet.
Riverside Veterinary Hospital has been serving pets in the Rocky Mount area for more than 60 years. Last year, Riverside received its second accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association and continues striving to provide high quality and compassionate veterinary care. A display will be made available outlining the requirements for this accreditation. Visitors will have an opportunity to see a pet portal that includes information on appointments and vaccines, prescription refills and personal picture downloads.
Riverside is a full service veterinary facility and also offers grooming, boarding and doggie daycare services. Visitors will be able to tour this area of the hospital and listen to presentations on what Riverside offers.
