Three local teenagers will compete next month in a teen pageant in Raleigh.

Meredith Lascallette of Rocky Mount and Miya Davis of Nashville recently were selected to participate in the 2013 Miss Teen Raleigh pageant.

Carrenda Carter of Rocky Mount was recently selected to participate in the 2012 Miss Jr. Teen Raleigh pageant. The competitions are scheduled to take place on Nov. 11.

The three young women learned of their acceptance into this year’s competition when pageant officials announced their selections following interviews in the Raleigh area.

The teens submitted their applications and took part in interview sessions that was conducted by this year’s Raleigh Pageant coordinator.

They will be competing for thousands of dollars in prizes and speciality gifts that will be distributed to contestants.

The winners of the Miss Teen Raleigh and Miss Jr. Teen Raleigh will represent Raleigh and the surrounding communities at the National Competition that will take place in Orlando, Fla.

More than $30,000 in prizes and awards will be presented at the National Competition while each winner enjoys this expense paid trip of five nights and six days.
