Three local teenagers will be competing Sunday night in in the 2012 Miss Jr. Teen Raleigh pageant.
Kala Couser of Rocky Mount, Jamie Lucas of Nashville and Victoria Moss of Nashville recently were selected to participate in the pageant.
They join another local teen, Carrenda Carter of Rocky Mount, who previously was selcted to compete in the event. Meredith Lascallette of Rocky Mount and Miya Davis of Nashville also were selected to participate in the 2013 Miss Teen Raleigh pageant, which also is being held tonight in Raleigh.
The teens submitted their applications and took part in interview sessions that was conducted by the pageant coordinator.They learned of their acceptance into this year’s competition after undergoing the interviews in the Raleigh area.
The young women will be competing for thousands of dollars in prizes and speciality gifts that will be distributed to contestants.
The winners of the Miss Teen Raleigh and Miss Jr. Teen Raleigh will represent Raleigh and the surrounding communities at the National Competition that will take place in Orlando, Fla.
More than $30,000 in prizes and awards will be presented at the National Competition while each winner enjoys this expense paid trip of five nights and six days.
