Mable Anne Crickmore Senner Sloan celebrated her 100th birthday on Oct. 20 with family and friends.

Born to William and Pattie Crickmore, she spent her early years in Rocky Mount.

She graduated from Louisburg College in 1930 and served for two years in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.

Mable lived her married years from 1946-87 in Florida.

She is a retired school teacher. After moving back to the Rocky Mount area in 1987, Mable lived independently until she was 94 years old. She now resides at the Brekenridge Retirement Center.
