A Court of Honor was recently held for eight Eagle Scouts from Troop 40 in Rocky Mount.

Scouts recognized were Colby Kirkpatrick, Owen Phillips, Ford Jolly, Matthew Lane, Trevor Graham, Cameron Graham, John Mebane and Sam Lilley, who completed service projects helping Rocky Mount and Nashville.

Projects included a community garden for the Boys and Girls Club, a garden renovation for the Bryant T. Aldridge Rehabilitation Center, more than 300 snack bags and storage for a food program at Church of the Good Shepherd, landscaping, benches and a prayer labyrinth for Lakeside Baptist, player benches and bird houses for the Nashville Recreation Department, shelving and food drive for First United Methodist backpack buddies program and enhancements for the Rocky Mount Academy tennis program through court improvements and landscaping.

These young men raised more than $28,000 toward completion of their projects.
