Landis Schrock of Rocky Mount recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

A member of Boy Scout Troop 11 out of West Haven Presbyterian Church, Schrock has been a Scout almost all of his life, starting as a Tiger Cub Scout and eventually becoming a Boy Scout. He earned more than 50 merit badges as a Scout and plans on giving back to the scouting program as an adult.

Each Eagle Scout has to complete an Eagle Service Project. Landis’s project was building a garden bridge and walkway for the Nash County Arboretum at the Nash County Agriculture Center in Nashville

Landis will graduate Saturday from Nash Central High School, where he was a member of the tennis team and the National Honor Society. He plans to attend N.C. State University in the fall and major in biomedical engineering.

He is the son of Tim and Sandra Schrock.
