Despite the deadline passing, Walgreens officials said those with gifts for the Santa for Seniors program can still drop off their donation.

Blake Rhudy, manager of the Walgreens on Raleigh Boulevard, said Monday was the deadline for participants to turn in the gifts they purchased for area seniors at local Walgreens stores or the Nash County Senior Center.

Santa for Seniors provides small gifts such as word searches or robes for participating residents who might not have family or friends nearby to exchange gifts. Volunteers will deliver the presents on Dec. 17 or 18 to senior citizens around the county. For more information, call the Nash County Senior Center at 459-7681.
