A Rocky Mount native recently was honored at the 28th annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards and Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Global Competitiveness Conference in Washington, DC.
Tashika Hussey received the 2014 Black Engineer of the Year Modern Day Technology Leader award from the Lockheed Martin Corp. The award was presented to Hussey for her passion and commitment to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Hussey is the daughter of Peggy McNair and Charles Hussey.
The conference was hosted by Lockheed Martin Corp., the Council of Historically Black Colleges and Universities Engineering Deans, U.S. Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine and sponsored by Aerotek.
The award winners received national recognition during the Black Engineer of the Year Modern Day Technology Leader Luncheon. Thirty-one Lockheed Martin Corp. employees joined Hussey in receiving recognition during the luncheon.
