Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools officials on Tuesday announced the date to make up time missed by the five snow days this year.
For traditional schools, Feb. 17 will now be a regular student day. Information regarding Nash-Rocky Mount Early College High School will be announced later this week.
Spring break will not be affected by the snow days, as the system’s normal school day exceeds the minimum requirement by 30 minutes, allowing for more flexibility in rescheduling missed school days, Superintendant of Schools Dr. Anthony Jackson said in a press release.
State law requires students to be in school 185 days or 1,025 hours each school year.
“We appreciate the patience of our students, parents and staff as we worked through this process,” Jackson said.
Last week’s winter storm caused the system to cancel classes and after-school activities from Tuesday through Friday.
Schools also were closed on Jan. 22 due to winter weather conditions.
If more school days are missed due to inclement weather, the first makeup day will be April 21, followed by April 14 through 17 as needed.
