Barbara Johnson leads the monthly meeting for the close to 25 residents of Historic Villa Place Neighborhood at Braswell Memorial Library. At the May 14 meeting, the first item on the agenda was the confirmation of officers.

Villa Place residents elected officers who will lead the association for next year.

Barbara Johnson was elected as president; Otis Chauncey re-elected as vice president and Helen Perry as secretary/treasurer.

Other Rocky Mount departments such as the human relations and the fire department provide information and support to the residents, and Rocky Mount Councilwoman Lois Watkins commended them for the interest and ownership they have for their neighborhood.
