Flora earns Eagle Scout rank

Cameron Flora was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boys Scouts of America, on Nov. 6, 2012. His rank advancement was celebrated on Jan. 6 at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor.

Flora is a member of Troop 37 sponsored by Coopers Ruritan Club. His service project was entitled “Sharing God’s Love with Those in Need.” He collected used medical equipment, cleaned and refurbished it and donated the equipment to those in need. He collected equipment valued at more thanr $15,700 and donated more than $6,300.

Flora turned his project over to his youth group at his church, the First Free Will Baptist in Wilson. The group will continue this project as part of a youth ministry to the community.

Flora, 14, is the son of Pat and Brenda Flora.
