The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 2057 is looking for non-allergenic poly-fill for bone pillows they are making.
Members of the auxiliary make the pillows and donate them to the VA hospitals and Nash General Hospital. The pillows are used to support patient’s arms during IV treatments to help make them more comfortable.
Most are used for cancer treatment and dialysis, but many patients are finding other ways to use them to help make things a little more comfortable.
“We try to make the pillows bright and joyful to help bring a smile to the patient’s face,” said Cheryl-Ann Brown, secretary-treasurer of the auxiliary.
Donations can be dropped off at Post 2057 from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays or by calling 442-0051 to make other arrangements.
