The incoming freshman class of the Rocky Mount Debu-ette Club consists of 30 girls and five adult advisers and a civic grade mother.
The advisers – Missy Goodwin, Debbie Gibson, Karen Boyette, Heather Butler, Hope Rommel – will devote the next four years to mentoring the girls through community service projects and helping them become leaders in civic and social events. Emily Bondy is the civic grade mother.
This year, 160 Debu-ettes in the ninth- through twelfth-grades will volunteer with numerous area organizations, including the American Heart Association, Bassett Center, My Sister’s House, Pregnancy Care Center, Autumn Care, Backpack Buddies, and Salvation Army. Debu-ettes also will work to serve many other organizations and school festivals within the Rocky Mount area as they seek to complete required and extra service hours.
