Confederate heritage groups plan monument restoration effort

Hoyle Kip Vinson, commander of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Robert Henry Ricks Camp 75, was the guest speaker at the November meeting of the Bethel Heroes Chapter 636 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy at the Braswell Memorial Library.

Vinson discussed an upcoming joint fundraising event between the Robert Henry Ricks Camp 75 and Bethel Heroes Chapter 636 to help pay for the restoration of the Confederate Monument in Battle Park.

Bethel Heroes chapter President Dottie Barrett is working with Vinson to plan the event, details of which are expected to announced in the near future. Assisting Barrett is Bethel Heroes chapter member Margie Parker Brantley and the chapter committee she heads.
