The Columbiette Auxiliary of Father James Schomber Knights of Columbus Council No. 4600 has been organized at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church under the leadership of Cherie Myer.
The idea of a ladies organization to work with the Knights of Columbus was conceived in 1939 by Monsignor J. Francis McIntyre.
The Columbiette Auxiliary is a unified body of women working side-by-side with the Knights of Columbus. It is a service organization for Catholic women, age 17 and older, who are interested in making a difference in their church and community.
Since getting organized at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the Columbiettes have had a successful bake and craft sale to support various projects.
They also have assisted with the Knights of Columbus with the preparation and distribution of Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets during the 2011 holiday season.
There are many benefits in being a member of the Columbiette Auxiliary including spiritual, moral, charitable, educational and social. The Columbiettes meets once a month to pray, plan activities and fellowship.
