The Pregnancy Care Center Board of Directors has named Shawn Carney, Co-Founder of 40 Days for Life and the host of television show “Being Human,” as the keynote speaker at the Pregnancy Care Center Celebrate Life Banquet.

“We listened to an overwhelming number of requests from 2011 CLB attendees to have Shawn return, not only to hear him again, but also to invite others to hear his inspiring message,” PCC Board Chairman Richard Laney said. “He will bring us the most up-to-date developments in the pro-life movement and offer strategies on how we can have a greater impact for the preservation of life in our community.”

The 2012 Celebrate Life Banquet will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Englewood Baptist Church. Reservations are required.

Carney is a frequent media spokesperson and his work has been featured on numerous media outlets including Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor,” The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and Christian media, including The Christian Post, National Catholic Register, Salem Radio, Relevant Radio, EWTN Radio, and Focus on The Family.

Carney was an inspirational part in Executive Director of Texas Planned Parenthood Abby Johnson’s story reflected in her book “Unplanned.”

Carney serves as executive producer and host of the new pro-life television series, “Being HUMAN,” which airs in 128 million homes via the Eternal Word Television Network.

Known best for his tireless work in the pro-life movement, Carney co-founded 40 Days for Life, a combination of prayer, fasting, peaceful vigil and door-to-door outreach. Since 2007, he has helped to expand 40 Days for Life to 337 cities in all 50 American states, six Canadian Provinces, England, Ireland, Australia and Denmark.

Carney is one of the youngest and most inspirational pro-life speakers in America today and has traveled across America inspiring audiences with his passion for helping women and the unborn. With humility, Carney speaks candidly about the controversial subject of abortion and how God uses ordinary willing people in the pro-life movement.

Funds are used to provide a variety of free services which include: pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, fatherhood classes, HIV and Syphilis testing, STD screening for chlamydia and gonorrhea, abstinence counseling, and factual information on pregnancy, adoption, abortion risks and procedures. Clothing and furnishings for mother and baby are available through the HOPE program, and Healing Encouragement for Abortion related Trauma offers support groups and Bible studies. Contributions also enable the Worth Waiting4! Program to provide abstinence presentations in local schools and churches.
