The public is invited to attend a Breast Cancer Survivorship Panel Discussion tonight in Rocky Mount.
Guests will learn about breast cancer prevention and survivorship. They also will have an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists.
The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the OIC Community Health Education Center, located at 1060 Pinehurst Drive.
Admission is free, but registration is required.
The panel will include Dr. Mark Petruzziello, several breast cancer survivors and several family members or caregivers who have been affected by breast cancer.
Petruzziello will discuss breast cancer facts, screening and prevention, mortality rates and progress that has been made. The other panelists will discuss their experiences with breast cancer.
The panel discussion is being sponsored by Vidant Edgecombe Hospital and the OIC Community Health Education Center.
The event is part of the hospital’s Breast Health and Awareness Festival, which includes a series of events designed to acknowledge Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
