Golf Invitational: Northgreen Golf Club will present the first homeless veterans golf invitational Wednesday. Tee times are at 8:15 a.m. and 2 p.m. The cost is $300 per team, $75 per person. There will be food, fun, prizes and a silent auction. A barbecued chicken plate sale will also be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $7 per plate. Golf Tournament: The 6th Annual Pitt Golf Tournament will be held April 28 at Birchwood Country Club. The cost is $100 per player and includes green fees, cart, goodie bag, T-shirt, hat and a Texas dinner. The event is being held in honor of Jim Pitt-

Volunteers Sought: The Guardian Ad Litem Program is seeking volunteers in Edgecombe, Nash and Wilson counties to work with children's cases in the court system. Artsplosion: Artsplosion 2008, a celebration of the Fine Arts in Edgecombe County Public Schools, will be held Monday through Thursday in the Mobley Atrium and Keihin Auditorium on the Tarboro campus of Edgecombe Community College. A visual arts display featuring works from third through 12th grade will be available for viewing during college hours.

Program Offered: SWIM Network is offering its first evening course Today's Office Program, a 13-week course offering computer skills training in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access and Internet Explorer, beginning Monday.
