Vincent J. Tesoro was sworn in as the 2008-09 Commandant of the Tri-County Marine Corps League Detachment 1262 by Northeast District Sr. Vice Commandant Wallace C. Darling.
The Marine Corps League was formed in 1923 and consists of former and active duty Marines and Navy FMF Corpsmen attached to the United States Marine Corps.
The Marine Corps League takes an active part in the Toys for Tots campaign, participates in parades, flag raising ceremonies, memorial services, assists wounded Marines returning to civilian life, promotes the President's Youth Physical Fitness Program and sponsors Boy Scout and Young Marine programs.
The detachment meets on the first Monday of each month and all former Marines & FMF Corpsmen are invited to attend. For information, call 212-5525 or 469-0515.
