Once there was a creature named Four Arm Manie. He had four arms, and he was red, and he had spikes sticking out of his arms.
He lived on the sun, but he went to the moon because his friends were hurt. He went so he could help them but he got stuck on the moon because the space ship would not work.
He figured out it was missing a spring. He found it on the moon right under the spaceship. He put it back in the ship. Then he and his friends got in the ship and went back to the sun. They were very happy after that, and they never went back to the moon again.
Beararella
By Langdon Norris, second grade, Winstead Avenue Elementary
Once upon a time, there was a bear. She had two evil stepsisters. They made her work all day long. Then one day the bear prince threw a ball. Her two wicked stepsisters made Beararella help them get ready. Then they said she couldn't come because she was ugly. They went off. Then a Fairy Bear came, she made Beararella look beautiful. She made her a speeding car. She got there in a flash. The prince bear said, "May I have this dance?" Then her Fairy Bear said, "Leave at 1:00 a.m." So Beararella danced with the prince. Before the final dance came, it was 12:59 a.m. Beararella rushed out of the ball. On the way out she lost one of her globe slippers. She went home. The next day, the Bear prince came into Beararella's house. All of her entire family tried on the globe slipper but it didn't fit. Then it was Beararella's turn, it fit perfectly. They lived happily ever after.
I Like to Give
By Roderick Tillery Jr., third grade, Nashville Elementary
It is nice to help others.
I can help people have nice stuff.
I can help children have nice snacks at school.
I can give toys to children who need them.
I can give food to the hungry.
I can give my clothes that are too small to someone.
I have little money but I will share.
I like to give.
My Lazy Cat
By Christopher Rabil, thirde grade, Rocky Mount Academy
I have a lazy cat. Meaco is her name. She is so cute. Meaco is black and white, white on the bottom, black on the top. She loves to take naps. She cuddles up with me to get food. Food is the only thing she cares about. When I shake her food bag, she comes running for it.
Meaco is wild. She jumped off the stair railing and the railing is like 12 or 13 feet tall.
She got her name from Mulan, the Disney movie, because there is a raccoon in it named Meaco.
I love my lazy cat Meaco.
