One day I found a turkey for Thanksgiving. I touched the turkey and transformed into one.
I ran out of the house. Then my dad tried to catch me. I ran as fast as I could, but mom caught me with her net. Then they put me in the oven. I used my beak to break out.
Then I went outside. Then dad tried to kill me with the lawn mower. Then mom threw knives at me. Then I ran the other way back into the house and touched the turkey.
I transformed back into me. It was a bad day.
Jewels
By Nathaniel Asbell, second grade, Winstead Avenue Elementary
One day in the middle of nowhere my friend and I were looking for three jewels: red, green and blue. That very moment I heard footsteps coming from right behind us! We saw an old tree house and went inside it but as soon as we got inside it, it started to move. It was an electronic tree house. We pushed the fighting button and it killed the dinosaur. They figured out where they were and said the Jurassic Park. The tree house was dirty but they pushed the cleaning button. They turned the tree house into an airplane and drove home.
Lions in the Jungle
By Phil Lyons, sixth grade, Rocky Mount Prep
He moves in the dark night looking around
Looking for prey without a sound
He sees a deer grazing the grass
Moving swiftly towards it
He is moving likes he adores it
Stoking and stoking the prey
Leaps out and catches it
And the deer will never have another day
