Once upon a time, there was an angry porcupine who lived in an empty log. Its only friend was an ostrich who lived at the tip of an edge of the bog. All the rest were enemies, even the crickets, the birds that chirp, and those with quills.
It's a shock to know though, that when the snail with its shell that looks like a wreck shows its badge to check the log, the porcupine's rib gets tickled and he is scared. This sure wraps up the fact that porcupine's a chicken after all.
Friends

A friend is someone that helps you when you need them. We need a friend to help us if we are sick. Sometimes you need a friend to help you with your homework. You can keep your promise. That is how you don't cause conflict. We friends by being nice.
The Time Machine

3rd Grade, Englewood Elementary
One day my mom said, "Go clean out the basement. We are moving tomorrow." I went downstairs and started to put up some things in a box.
I opened one so I could put some stuff in it. I saw a weird machine. I went upstairs and said, "I found a weird machine."
Mom said we were going to be rich and started to freak out. I said, "How?"
She said, "When I sell this thing, we'll have a million dollars in cash."
I said we should keep it and just be lucky to have it.
"But can I ask you a question? What is it?" I asked.
"It is a time machine. Why don't we go to the future?" Mom said.
I have always wanted to go to the future.
Readers, do you know what the future is? It is a big, fancy city.
We went to the future. It wasn't the future I thought it would be.
The buildings were too high and the air was weird.
We went home and my dad was asleep. Mom said it was past my bedtime.
She said, "Boy, you better get in that bed."
I turned off the light and said goodnight to my mom.
I woke up and everything was packed. My dad said, "It is 9 o'clock and we are moving. Get your clothes on, we have to go and get a moving van."
We moved to Canada and unpacked.
My new neighbor asked if I had anyone to play with. I said no.
He said, "Do you want to play with my boy? He is about your age."
I said yes. He went and got him.
I said, "Do you want to go to the past?"
He said yes and I used my time machine and it took us to the past.
There were a lot of cowgirls.
I asked, "Do you know what this is?"
He said no. I said, "Neither do I."
We stayed in the past a long time, then we went home.
I went to sleep in my new bed.
