The company makes custom-printed flags for individuals and organizations, as well as American, Canadian and Christian flags. It makes a wide array of custom banners, such as boat, golf, garden, car, wedding, trade show and school flags and printed tents.
“We have customers who buy U.S. flags, North Carolina flags, but we’re not a showroom,” owner Greg Schultz said. “We are a national company, and we sell all over the country. We’ll do any kind of custom flags.”

The company has warehouses in North Carolina, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Florida, Texas, California, Maryland, Missouri, Tennessee, New York and Illinois.
“At NorthStar Flag and Flag Pole, we physically make your custom flag from scratch right here in the U.S.,” the company’s website says. “Our state-of-the-art flag manufacturing equipment produces top quality flags in vibrant colors that last.”
For six years, NorthStar’s plant was at 1025 S. Church St. A few months ago, the business moved into an 11,000-square-foot building at 2600 N. Business Court.
Schultz said he was working in Rocky Mount for another company at the time he started the company.
“Location didn’t have any thing to do with (starting the business),” he said. “I just lived here and was working at another company at the time.”
