Boice-Willis is expanding its business to fill a growing demand for family medical care.
The largest and oldest multi-specialty, physician-owned practice in Eastern North Carolina is building a new 9,000-square-foot clinic that will open this fall on Eastpointe Avenue in Nashville.
“Our new home in Nashville will be the state-of-the-art in family medical care with an inviting, comfortable interior and plenty of parking,” Boice-Willis CEO Gary J. Fazio said. “Our patients have shown a great deal of patience as we have outgrown our current facility in recent years. We think they will be very pleased with this new clinic.”
Boice-Willis will own the new clinic, which is estimated to cost $2.3 million to build. Fazio said the new location is ideal.
“There is plenty of acreage behind it to allow for expansion,” Fazio said. “It’s right off U.S. 64. There is a lot of growth going on there.”
The Boice-Willis clinic on West Church Street in Nashville is
closing. It has been operated out of a leased building since 1986, when Dr. Joseph Liverman joined the clinic.
The clinic on West Church Street is about 6,500 square feet. The new one will be 9,000 square feet. The new clinic not only will have more space, but is adding additional staff, including a new doctor, Godfried Arthur. He will join Dr. Paul Bondy, Dr. Broderick Bello, physician assistant Maria Stone and family nurse practioner Jennifer Wells.
“These providers will continue to be supported by an excellent team of nurses, lab technicians, insurance specialists, administrative, and clerical personnel,” Fazio said.
He said the larger clinic will help fill a need for more family medical care in the area, Fazio said.
The new clinic will continue to focus on family medicine and will include a full service diagnostic lab, Chief Medical Officer Martha Chesnutt said in a press release.
“Our providers have nearly 100 combined years of experience in family medicine,” she said in the release. “Our patients include toddlers, seniors and everyone in between and we look forward to welcoming new patients to this new facility.”
Chambliss & Rabil Contractors is the general contractor for the project.
“Site work will begin in early March and we expect to be fully operational this fall,” Norman Chambliss asid. “This will be a first-class medical facility that will serve Nashville and the surrounding area for many years to come.”
Chambliss & Rabil Commercial Realty brokered the site acquisition for Boice-Willis.
Boice-Willis is the largest independently owned medical clinic east of Greensboro, serving patients in a 10-county area that includes Southern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina. There are seven clinical offices and more than 70 providers representing 16 medical specialties, including Family Medicine.
The Boice-Willis Clinic was established in 1914 by two surgeons, Dr. E.S. Boice and Dr. B.C. Willis.
Boice-Willis is working on plans to open the clinic with a Family Health Fair for the community.
“We look forward to expanding our service to the families of the greater Nashville area in this new facility,” Chesnutt said. “This will be a perfect beginning to our centennial celebration coming next year.”
